Background

Designers go to different places for inspirations, some also keep a private library of inspiring contents. However, managing everything from all the different places is not a simple task. Sometimes it could be exhausting to try to keep up with the new contents coming out everywhere.

That’s why I created Referenes.Design, a one-stop shop for all the freshest inspirations. With the AI-powered features, it can automatically put everything in order and give inspirations like a magic.

The whole project was done from scratch, I started it from early design concepts till the initial launching and marketing, and part of frontend implementations.

You find something interesting, and with one click to save it to your personal collection, no need to worry about where to save it before you find it’s necessary. All downloads will be properly tagged so that you can find them easily in the future.

References.Design is not only just a viewer, it is also a smart assistant who automatically put things in order.

I wrote a whole story about how the existing tools failed on organizing our design assets. To put it simple: we want to get inspired, not to get tired filtering and sorting our contents.

I spent months training a neural net to detect and categorize different design contents. With that, we were able to automatically tag the design contents and allow users to quickly find the best fits with minimal manual efforts.
